Today I am reminded of the words of Christ, Son of the Triune God, Risen from the Dead, as recorded in the Gospel According to Matthew, Chapter 34:
Do not think that I came to bring peace on Earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man's enemies will be the members of his household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it.
We also remember this, Chapter 10 of the Gospel According to Mark:

It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law, Jesus replied. But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’[a]

‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,[b] and the two will become one flesh.’[c] So they are no longer two, but one flesh.

The Supreme Court has today said one thing, the Risen Christ another. When the two come in conflict, I know who I am eternally to obey.

The United States Supreme Court today did not find a Constitutional right to same sex couples declaring themselves married in today's ruling. It is not necessary. That ruling will await another day, but it is as inevitable as night following dusk.

What is most disturbing is the Court's finding that there is no possible basis for opposing this other than naked hatred of gay people. All who oppose them are bigots. As we saw 20 years ago, the teachings of Christ have become a fit of spite. The idea that homosexual behavior (and hence "marriage") is inherently wrong for its own sake, in spite of the collective praise of the chattering classes, is now politically anathema.

If you believe that the only way one can oppose gay marriage is because one is evil, then alrighty then. Call me evil then--one of the hostes humani generis, enemies of the human race, in Justice Scalia's thunderous words.

If you say me evil, you won't be the first. You won't ever be right, but you won't be the first.

By saying objective truth, I am not evil. I am the King's good servant... but God's first.

I am, from this date, like all believing Christians, Jews and Muslims, quite dangerous to know, particularly if you are in a comfortable job in the power structure.

Before the triumph begins, let me remind you of another ruling the Supremes once made:
....beings of an inferior order, and altogether unfit to associate with ... either in social or political relations, and so far inferior that they had no rights which the ... man was bound to respect..... case you ever dreamed that the Godz in Black are incapable of making a mistake.

Today I kinda know, a little bit, how Dred Scott felt, for I, who understand the exclusively heterosexual nature of marriage, now have no rights the politically correct are bound to respect. I am made an enemy of the people.

Doubt me? Wait.

As for the Godz themselves, I tremble for them and pray for their immortal souls. They need all the prayers they can get.
